ONS to Address Need for Continuing Education in Genetics With Free Webinar

October 23, 2017 by eliadmin
Genetics play a critical role in the development of cancer as well as in its prevention, treatment, and beyond. However, this topic receives little attention in most nursing programs.   Therefore, ONS is helping to bridge this educational gap with a free webinar on Wednesday, November 15, 2017, from 1:30–2:30 pm EST with expert Dr. Suzanne Mahon. The free webinar, “It's in the Genes: Understanding Genetics and Genomics in Oncology Practice,” (https://register.gotowebinar.com/register/1775400503248122882) will discuss the critical information about genetics that oncology nurses need to consider in their personal practice. Leading up to the webinar, follow along with the hashtag, #cancergenetics, on Twitter and encourage your non-ONS member colleagues to tune in for free as well.   Get more information on why oncology nurses need to embrace genetics (https://voice.ons.org/news-and-views/why-oncology-nurses-need-to-embrace-genetics), and reserve your spot (https://register.gotowebinar.com/register/1775400503248122882) for the webinar today.
