Rejuvenate, Refocus, and Revitalize Your Practice and Yourself at the 48th Annual ONS Congress®

February 10, 2023

PITTSBURGH, PA, February 7, 2023—Bringing together more than 3,000 oncology nurses and other cancer care providers, the Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) hosts its 48th Annual ONS Congress (https://www.ons.org/congress/2022) in San Antonio, TX, from April 26–30, 2023. As the largest, most comprehensive oncology nursing conference in the United States, the annual event offers educational sessions, networking opportunities, and groundbreaking nursing research reports.

Rejuvenate, Refocus, and Revitalize is the overall theme for the 2023 ONS Congress. For five days in San Antonio, oncology nurses will connect and attend sessions in five nursing-focused educational tracks: clinical practice; advanced practice; leadership, management, and education; research; and radiation. Each session provides nursing continuing professional development (NCPD) contact hours, and attendees will have the chance to rejuvenate with a range of self-care activities, including massages, chair yoga, meditation, breath work, well-being education, and a relaxing dog-petting lounge.

The keynote presentation features Maimah Karmo, a best-selling author, transformational coach, and speaker. On Thursday, April 27, 2023, Karmo will inspire ONS Congress attendees by explaining the power that oncology nurses hold to create and drive change and how empowering nurses places patients at the heart of practice and supports your own well-being.

Karmo, a stage II triple-negative breast cancer survivor whose experience with the disease inspired her to move mountains and create change, will also discuss how she founded the Tigerlily Foundation to help patients, how to bring passions to fruition through empowerment and inspiration, and how to build bridges to fill gaps in care. “I think it, I dream it, I do it,” Karmo said. “It’s not rocket science. I just do it.”
