PITTSBURGH, PA—July 10, 2020—Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) has updated its Oncology Nursing Society Seal of Approval program, which provides additional benefits to companies interested in promoting nurse and patient support materials. Companies that submit materials and are approved can prominently display the Oncology Nursing Society Seal of Approval logo on marketing collateral for distribution to nurses and patients.

For providers of health education resources, the Oncology Nursing Society Seal of Approval logo is a valuable symbol of recognition by one of the most respected organizations in cancer care. An abundance of educational content is available, but oncology nurses need a way to identify credible sources. The Oncology Nursing Society Seal of Approval ensures the information provided in educational resources is evidence-based, timely, and relevant to practicing oncology nurses and the patients they serve.

In addition to the use of the Oncology Nursing Society Seal of Approval logo on materials, companies also receive a promotion of resources on an ONS social media platform, announcement of approved resources in the ONS Weekly Update, a link to the resource on the ONS website, as well as recognition at the annual ONS Congress.

This fee-based initiative is limited to educational programs and resources related to cancer, cancer care, or nursing. The programs or resources submitted for approval must be consistent with the ONS mission, standards, guidelines, and positions. “As a leading voice in oncology care, ONS is dedicated to providing valuable resources to nurses on the front line of cancer treatment and patient care,” said Erica Devine, PharmD, BCACP, ONS Director of Business Development. “We have many industry partners who have submitted resources, earned the seal, and can be found on our website under the Oncology Nursing Society Seal of Approval Learning Library (https://www.ons.org/business-development/oncology-nursing-society-seal-approval-library).”

Educational resources submitted for approval will be evaluated by ONS clinical experts and must meet all review criteria for approval, including consistency with ONS policies, standards and guidelines, and principles of health literacy. Bulk discounts are offered for companies submitting five or more applications within a one-year period. Contact soa@ons.org (mailto:soa@ons.org) for discount information and more information.
