Happy New Year!

With a new year comes new changes: earlier this month, ONS published the inaugural print issue of the ONS Voice, which is replacing your monthly ONS Connect. But we haven’t just given the news magazine a facelift: the ONS Voice is so much more than just “the new ONS Connect.”

Our new tagline, “news, views, and advocacy from the Oncology Nursing Society,” clues you in to what you’ll find on these pages in the years ahead. We’ll still connect you to the latest news and information in oncology and nursing, but we’re expanding our coverage, especially online, which will launch on January 31 and will be where you can get daily updates. Also new to this publication a “views” component—when relevant, each print or online article will have a framework that shares the oncology nursing perspective, whether from an industry expert or the Society’s own expertise. ONS is fortunate to have a membership rich with oncology nursing experts, and this new publication will give voice to those perspectives. Finally, in the current environment with health policies regularly becoming a priority on Capitol Hill—the National Cancer Moonshot Initiative, 21st Century Cures Act, pending changes to the Affordable Care Act—we’ve stepped up our advocacy coverage to ensure you understand the legislation affecting you and your patients and how you can get involved to help represent the voice of oncology nurses in shaping health policy.

We hope you enjoy reading this new publication as much as we’ve enjoyed creating it for you. Check back on January 31 to see the new website, and we welcome your comments and feedback at pubONSVoice@ons.org
