PITTSBURGH, PA—August, 16, 2016—The Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) and Haymarket Media Inc., (Haymarket) are proud to announce a collaboration to produce a co-sponsored nurse navigation conference beginning in June 2017.

The Oncology Nurse Advisor (ONA) Navigation Summit will bring together leading experts from across the cancer community to share first-hand experiences and knowledge regarding issues that impact nurse navigators.

“Nurse navigation is one critical way in which care coordination is being delivered for patients with cancer," said Brenda Nevidjon, MSN, RN, FAAN, ONS chief executive officer. “Nurse navigators work directly with patients and caregivers to provide education and resources for more informed decision-making, and facilitate access to quality health and psychosocial care throughout the cancer continuum. A partnership such as this allows ONS and Haymarket to offer the most current information for effective navigation, as well as educational and networking opportunities, not only to our members, but anyone working in the capacity as an oncology nurse navigator.”

Successful educational symposia result from the right blend of clinical expertise with mentoring, effective communication, and engagement. “The ONA Navigation Summit will combine the Oncology Nursing Society’s leadership in oncology nursing with Haymarket’s strength in medical content development and education, cultivated through years of successful print and digital publishing experience,” said Chad Holloway, Group Publisher, Haymarket Oncology. “This collaborative effort will bring additional credibility to an already successful event and will further the mission of ONS and its commitment to the nurse navigation and care coordination community.”
