The National Academies of Sciences has created a new podcast on the subject of end-of-life care. The series will deal with palliative care, patient-provider communication, and coordinated care.

The Health and Medicine Division issued a 2015 report, Dying in America: Improving Quality and Honoring Individual Preferences Near the End of Life that focused on the need to strengthen support at this critical stage of life. Oncology nurses see the benefits first hand of palliative care plans for their patients and caregivers. As health care continues to focus on quality patient care, plans that mitigate pain and manage the end of a patient’s life will become even more integrated into the nursing profession.

This podcast aims to educate and inform healthcare professionals by sharing perspectives from experts in the field. Discover more about palliative care through its interdisciplinary approach, advanced care planning, policies and payment systems, along with other important details.
